Ribbon Cutting & Open House For Renovated Montco Elementary School

NORTH PENN, PA — The community is invited to a grand reopening celebration of the Knapp Elementary School later this month.

The North Penn School District will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Oct. 18 at 6 p.m.

Area residents and parents of schoolchildren are invited to come see the renovations to the school, which began back in 2020.

New superintendent Todd Bauer recently canvassed the neighborhoods around the elementary school to invite folks to attend the upcoming event.

The North Penn School District embarked on a two-year renovation project at Knapp, which included various physical improvements and upgrades, the addition of 13,000 square feet of new classroom space, 65,000 square feet of renovated existing space, a new bus entry and drop off loop, asbestos abatement, a relocated kitchen and cafeteria, new secure entry and administrative suite, and other upgrades.

Phased construction began in the spring of 2020 and was completed this August, according to school district documents.
