The fatal accident occurred Sunday morning at the Pennbrook train station in Lansdale, according to media reports and social media alerts.
WFMZ 69 News reported that the train operator was unable to stop the train in time and ended up striking the pedestrian, who died due to injuries.

SEPTA had tweeted Sunday morning that the Lansdale-Doylestown line, which is serviced by the Pennbrook station, was experiencing delays due to police activity at the scene.
The transit authority later tweeted that commuter trains would be bypassing the station because a train had struck a person.
