Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued In Souderton Area

SOUDERTON, PA — Part of northwestern Montgomery County is under a severe thunderstorm warning Tuesday afternoon, officials said, as a storm front bringing potentially destructive winds and other serious impacts is on the way to the region.

The warning is in effect until 1 p.m. for Souderton, Green Lane, Pennsburg, and parts of Bucks County including Quakertown, Perkasie, Coopersburg, and Richlandtown.

Potential impacts include wind up to 60 miles per hour, quarter sized hail, and heavy rain where the thunderstorms are strongest.

A severe thunderstorm warning indicates that the storm is imminent and residents should take action and seek shelter immediately.

The warning comes as most of southeastern Pennsylvania remains under a severe thunderstorm watch for the afternoon.
