Skimming Device Found At North Wales Business
Police are warning customers to check their bank statements for any suspicious activity.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA — A credit card skimming device has been found at a cash register of a business in North Wales, police said.
The skimmer was located on a terminal inside the Assi Plaza International Food Store, which is on 1222 Welsh Road.
It's not clear how long the device has been on the machine. Criminals can install the skimmers in mere seconds, and sometimes just need to distract an employee briefly in order to do it.

"A skimming device allows criminals to record the information from the magnetic strip on your debit/credit card and subsequently create a duplicate card," police explained. "The criminals also install a pinhole camera, which records when you enter your PIN number. In some cases, keylogging keypad overlays are used instead of pinhole cameras to record PINs. These overlays record a customer’s keystrokes."
If you have shopped at Assi Plaza recently, check your card statements for any suspicious activity.
