Telford Man Admits to Robbing El Aguacate

A Telford man was forced to pay an $100 fine and returned the $290 he admitted to stealing from a Souderton restaurant as part of his sentence. He will be forced to pay the court costs and also serve five years of probation, as well.

Luis A. Rivera-Fernandez, 39, of the 100 block of North Main Street, Telford, admitted to robbing the restaurant in 2012, according to a report on the Philly Burbs website.

Rivera-Fernandez’s sentence came down as a result from a September robbery of El Aguacate Restaurant 38 W. Broad St., Souderton. Police were reportedly dispatched at 9:20 p.m.

The case’s criminal complaint states Rivera-Fernandez yelled at a female behind the counter to “give me the money and nothing will happen to you.”

Philly Burbs reports that he then cleared the register of its cash and fled in his vehicle.

According to the police report, Montgomery Township Police stopped a vehicle 20 minutes later that fit the description of Rivera-Fernandez’s car. He was, at the time, its driver.

A restaurant owner identified him as the robber that evening, said the Philly Burbs article.
