An Upper Gwynedd Driver Is Facing Numerous Felony Charges For Injuring Older Pedestrian
Christopher Malone, 57, faces charges including aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence.

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, PA — An Upper Gwynedd man is facing numerous felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from an alleged incident of drunk driving that involved sending a 74-year-old pedestrian to the hospital, according to media reports and court records.
Christopher Malone, 57, of the 100 block of Barry Avenue in Upper Gwynedd, is facing charges such as aggravated assault by vehicle, driving under the influence and other counts after allegedly running down an older pedestrian back in mid-October on the 1100 block of West Thomas Road in Montgomery Township, according to a report on North Penn Now.
The incident was said to have occurred just before 6 p.m. on Oct. 15.

Court records show that Malone has been charged with felony counts of aggravated assault by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, and accidents involving death or personal injury.
He also faces two driving under the influence misdemeanor counts, as well as a total of five summary violations of reckless driving, careless driving, failing to stop and render aid, failing to inform police of accident or injury/death and failing to keep right.

According to the North Penn Now report, the elderly pedestrian who was allegedly struck by Malone had to be airlifted to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia for treatment of a whole host of serious injuries, including, but not limited to, traumatic brain injury, multiple fractures and left facial palsy.
The report also says that following the accident in Montgomery Township, Malone's vehicle was involved in an accident with a stopped vehicle in Lansdale Borough.
Malone was taken into custody after failing numerous field sobriety tests, the report states.
Court records show that Malone is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Jan. 18, 2022 before Magisterial District Judge Andrea Hudak Duffy.
