Rapoport and Snyder worked together at Maple Hills Veterinary Hospital, but Rapoport left that practice about a year ago, said Hilary Schiavone, Snyder's friend, coworker and roommate.

Rapoport's arrest "makes sense to me and to everybody here," Schiavone said, though she would only say that he worked there for two years and left a year ago because his contract was up and he wanted to work closer to his Lansdale home.

"He was very quiet," Schiavone said, "He was the shy, nerdy, studious type."

The bio further gives his background as "Dr. Rapoport grew up in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania. He received his B.S. in biology and Spanish from Muhlenberg College in 2002. Following graduation, he worked as a research specialist for the University of Pennsylvania department of neurobiology before attending veterinary school.
