Worcester Christmas Tree Lot A Montco Staple For Nearly A Century
Bustard's Quality Christmas Trees has been serving families in the Montgomery County area since the late 1920s.

WORCESTER TOWNSHIP, PA — A family-owned Christmas tree business has been operating in this central Montgomery County community for nearly a century.
Bustard's Quality Christmas Trees in Worcester Township first opened up back in 1929 and since that time has become a beloved staple during the holiday season, serving festive families in Montgomery County and beyond.
The business even boasts that it was the supplier of the official White House Christmas Tree back in 2015, no doubt a great honor for this local Montco family operation.

Bustard's got some attention from 6 ABC recently, which reported that folks were driving from as far as an hour away in the state of Delaware to purchase their Christmas trees for the season.
The seasonal business says that it specializes in large trees and offers Douglas Fir, Fraser Fir, Blue Spruce, Concolor Fir, Balsam Fir and Nordman Fir.

"We care about our customers and strive to provide you with quality service and assistance in selecting the correct tree and greenery for your home," the business states on its website.
Bustard's says that what makes them stand out from the competition is that they grow all their own quality trees on their four farms and then cut the trees down to be sold fresh at their retail locations.
The business also says it provides conveniences for customers such as the wooden walkways throughout their tree lot, so folks don't have to "slosh around in the snow or mud;" trim the bottom of trees for customers to ensure fitment in tree stands; offer to drill trees straight into customers' stands; clean trees with a mechanical shaker to remove any debris; help customers load trees into their vehicles; and provide "knowledgeable help" so customers aren't wandering around the lot aimlessly.
In addition to trees, Bustard's also offers handmade wreaths, roping, swags and other items for the holiday season.
An article last year from the Mercury newspaper says that Bustard's has also participated in the annual 'Trees for Troops' event designed to help military families by sending Christmas trees to those serving the country overseas.
That article mentions business owner Jay Bustard speaking about the benefits of buying real Christmas trees as opposed to artificial ones during the holiday season.
As for that official White House Christmas Tree a handful of years back, the Intelligencer reported that Bustard's got the honor after winning the 2015 Pennsylvania Christmas Tree Growers Association contest and then the National Christmas Tree Association White House Christmas Tree competition.
"We're the first family in Southeast Pennsylvania ever to win," Jay Bustard told the Intelligencer in late November of that year.
The Bustard family is a well-known family in this part of Montgomery County.
The Christmas tree business is located along a stretch of Bustard Road, named in honor of the family, which has longstanding roots in Worcester Township.
