$1.2M ICU Expansion For Lower Bucks Hospital Will Bolster Beds
The Bristol-based hospital's critical care unit will expand from 10 to 22 beds. Funding was secured by U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick.

BRISTOL, PA —Lower Bucks Hospital's Intensive Care Unit will expand its capacity next year.
The $1.2 million project will increase the current ICU's capacity from 10 to 22 beds.
"Lower Bucks serves a populated area that is in need of greater capacity due partly to COVID and complications from COVID that some patients suffer," said U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick.

The federal funding comes from a bipartisan omnibus appropriations package passed on Friday by the U.S. House of Representatives. The package will fully fund the federal government through Sept. 30.
Thirteen Bucks County projects, including Lower Bucks Hospital, will receive $19.015 millionin federal funding through the Community Project Funding Request process, Fitzpatrick said. His First Congressional District, which includes all of Bucks County and a portion of Montgomery County.

"Lower Bucks Hospital is honored and humbled by the Federal Grant from U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, demonstrating a shared vision for a revolutionized approach to health care in our community," hospital spokeswoman Michelle Aliprantis said.
She said the intensive care unit cares for all critically ill patients and that the added capacity will benefit the entire Lower Bucks County area.
"This funding will bring life-saving care to more people, and we thank our elected officials for their partnership and support," Aliprantis said. "The project reinforces our commitment to serving as stewards of health and wellness by ensuring Lower Bucks Hospital is positioned to provide high-quality care well into the future."
Fitzpatrick said the funding will soon be delivered to address needs across the district, including mental health and health services, financial education resources, and community and public infrastructure revitalization.
"I look forward to working with community leaders to implement these community projects in a timely fashion," he said.
