7 Cases Of Coronavirus Reported At Woods Services
Four residents and three employees tested positive at the home for people with developmental disabilities in Langhorne.
LANGHORNE, PA — Seven people have tested positive for the new coronavirus at Woods Services, the home for people with developmental disabilities in Langhorne.
Woods Services announced Thursday that four residents and three employees have tested positive at the campus. They were the residential facility's first cases, officials there said.
"We have developed a carefully thought out plan for what to do in the event a resident or staff member tests positive, and we are now implementing that plan," said Woods president and CEO Tine Hansen-Turton. "As part of that plan, the four residents who tested positive as well as others who may be positive based upon their symptoms, have been moved to our isolation residence as of today."

She said that Woods Services began monitoring all residents for possible symptoms of the coronavirus on March 11. Since March 16, every staff member has been screened upon arriving at the campus, she said, and the campus began a no-visitors policy on March 17.

"Protecting the safety, health, and wellness of our residents and our staff is always our top priority," Hansen-Turton said. "As news of the coronavirus outbreak evolved over these last several weeks, our response protocols were swiftly updated."
As of Thursday, nurses at Woods Services were nurses were testing residents at impacted residences and any staff there who wished to be tested.
