Afton Elementary School Suffers Power Outage
Pennsbury school officials said PECO is on the scene Wednesday trying to restore power.

FAIRLESS HILLS, PA — Afton Elementary School is without power Wednesday, school officials reported.
Due to the nature of the power outage at the Lower Makefield Township school, PECO has informed school officials that repairs will last well into the evening.

As a result, Afton students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Pennsbury school buses will be running.
PECO trucks will be on the Afton campus and on Quarry Road, which may impact travel, school officials said.

KidsCare students will be moved to Quarry Hill Elementary School for the remainder of the school day.
Afton is presently operating on generator power with limited phone and internet service.
Afton's staff is making accommodations to ensure students are taken care of and that the morning proceeds as smoothly as possible, officials said.
