Asynchronous Day For Bristol Borough SD To Honor Fallen Trooper

The Acting Superintendent of Schools announced that students will have online classes on Wednesday, as the district will be closed.

BRISTOL BOROUGH, PA — Bristol Borough School District has announced that it will be having an asynchronous day on Wednesday, March 30 to honor State Trooper Martin Mack, a Bristol Borough resident who was killed in a Philadelphia crash on Monday morning.

A statement released by the Acting Superintendent of Schools explained that the school district will be closed on that day, as it is the same day that the local trooper's viewing will be held at Wade Funeral Home.

"The Pennsylvania State Police and the Bristol Borough Police Department are anticipating a large contingent of law enforcement officers in the Borough on that day," said Thomas F. Shaffer, Acting Superintendent of Schools. "Therefore, we are anticipating significant traffic delays throughout the Borough."

"I hope this early notice gives you an opportunity to plan for child care on Wednesday, March 30th."

The funeral for the local trooper will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, located on the Levittown Parkway in the Tullytown Borough, at 11 a.m. the following day.

As a result of the anticipated crowds for the funeral, the Levittown Parkway from Route 13 to Kenwood Drive in both directions will be closed from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m on Thursday. Many troopers and law enforcement officials are expected to attend the funeral.
