Bristol Fistfight Becomes Shooting, Suspect At Large

Police are seeking a 19-year-old from Trenton who they say pulled a handgun during what was supposed to be an arranged fight.

BRISTOL, PA — Police in Bristol Borough are searching for a man they say pulled a handgun and shot at people during what was supposed to be a prearranged fistfight.

On Friday, police were called to a report of a shooting on the 500 block of Jefferson Avenue in Bristol. When they got there, officers found shell casings and a vehicle that had been hit by gunfire.

After investigating, police say, they learned that there had been a fistfight planned "in reference to a dispute between several individuals."

When the two groups met, police say, Hassan Bass, 19, of Trenton, pulled a handgun. As other people ran away, Bass fired several rounds at one of them, according to police.

Police say his intended target's vehicle was struck by gunfire but the intended target was not injured.

Bristol Borough Police said Monday they have gotten an arrest warrant for Bass, charging him with aggravated assault. While his last known address was in Trenton, Bass is known to frequent the Falls Township and Bristol areas, police said.

Members of the public are asked to immediately notify police if they see Bass. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Detective Davis at 215-788-7813, Ext. 2425.
