Bristol Grocery Worker Tests Positive For Coronavirus
With groceries being one of the few businesses still open, workers in the area have started catching the virus.
BRISTOL BOROUGH, PA — A grocery store worker in Bristol Borough has tested positive for the new coronavirus.
Bristol Selecto Supermarket, at 320 Pond St., announced on social media Wednesday evening that, on Sunday, an employee started feeling symptoms and immediately self-isolated.
That day, after the store closed, employees cleaned and sanitized all surfaces, machinery, carts and baskets, according to the post. On Wednesday, the employee tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

"We are doing everything recommended by the CDC in terms of cleaning and sanitizing, which we have already been doing," the store said in its post. "The employee will remain in isolation according to their physician's recommendation. We thank you you for your patronage and understanding during this difficult time."

With grocery stores being one of the only businesses allowed to receive customers during the state-mandated coronavirus shutdown, a handful of their workers have begun coming down with the virus recently.
On Tuesday, a Giant store in Southampton announced that an employee of its deli has tested positive for the coronavirus. In the Levittown area, an employee at Redner's and one at Target have reportedly tested positive for the virus.
