Bristol Man Bit Officer, Grabbed Gun On Christmas: Police
Police say he was "extremely intoxicated" when officers arrived early Christmas morning.
BRISTOL BOROUGH, PA — A Bristol man remains in jail after a scuffle early Christmas morning during which police say he bit an officer and tried to grab the officer's handgun.
Juan Hernandez, 33, is charged with assault of a law enforcement officer, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
According to police, officers were called at 1:18 a.m. on Dec. 25 to an address on Spruce Street for a report of domestic violence. They say that while officers were investigating, Hernandez was "extremely intoxicated" and became hostile toward the officers.

When officers tried to secure him, Hernandez became combative and resisted, biting an officer several times and trying to grab the officer's gun. Once he was placed in handcuffs, he continued to resist, according to police.
He was arraigned and is being held on bail set at 10% of $1.5 million.
