Bristol Man Fired Shots Into Group With 4-Year-Old: Bucks DA
A grand jury also recommended that his intended target be charged after chasing the man and also firing shots outside a Bristol hotel.
BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA — A Bristol man is facing felony charges after prosecutors say he fired a handgun into a crowd of people that included a 4-year-old girl.
Sysco Schruby, 21, of Bristol, was arrested Friday and is charged with six counts of attempted homicide in the Nov. 22, 2019, shooting — which prosecutors say appears gang-related and happened after Schruby chased down a man he'd seen at a local hotel.
He also faces several counts of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and firearms violations. The charges were presented by a grand jury and approved by Supervising Judge Raymond McHugh.

The grand jury recommended that Schruby's intended target, William Flemming, 28, of Bristol, also be charged with carrying a firearm without a license and reckless endangerment after he ran after Schruby and also fired a handgun several times, according to prosecutors.
According to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, Schruby and Flemming exchanged words at the Rodeway Inn, at 1100 Green Ln. in Bristol. Surveillance video, they say, showed Schruby leaving and getting into the back of a silver Honda Accord, which drove past Flemming's parked GMC Envoy.

Flemming was gathered by the SUV with his girlfriend, his 4-year-old child and three other people. Video showed Schruby put his arm out of the back passenger window and fire two or three times at the group, the DA's office said.
It then showed Flemming run after Schruby's car and fire several shots in its direction, they said. They say Schruby also fired back at Flemming, according to video.
No one was injured in the shooting.
The grand jury's presentment featured testimony from numerous witnesses, including a Bristol Township Police officer who was assigned to the Bucks County FBI Violent Gang Task Force and testified that witness-retaliation played a role in the shooting.
Flemming was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Kevin P. Wagner on Monday and his bail was set at $150,000.
