Bristol Riverside Theatre Hosts Christmas Concert Series

The local theatre will be presenting their first indoor concert series since the COVID-19 pandemic started.

BRISTOL, PA — The Bristol Riverside Theatre is currently hosting a Christmas concert series from now until Sunday, Dec. 19.

The concert series, titled 'An American Christmas Songbook', will showcase several regular Theatre actors singing carols and traditional Christmas songs for audience members of all ages. The Christmas concert series is the theatre's first indoor concert since the COVID-19 pandemic began last year.

Holiday classics like "Twelve Days of Christmas,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “Wizards in Winter,”and “Last Christmas” will be performed by a cast of veteran Bristol Riverside Theatre actors and actresses, including Demetria Joyce Bailey, Meredith Beck, Elyse Langley, Gary Lumpkin, Jon Reinhold, Dominick Sannelli, Michele Sexton, and Keith Spencer.

“Christmas makes everybody feel happy during the entire month of December,” said Ken Kaissar, Producing Director of the theatre. “I’m looking forward to having all of that happiness and cheer back in our theatre."

Keith Baker and the BRT Concert Band return to the theatre to oversee the full band that will perform alongside the singers. Baker originally conceived the idea of the concert series.

“One of the biggest blows to our audience during COVID was the fact that we couldn’t do our annual Christmas concert,” Kaissar said. “It is one of our most beloved programs. We got so many calls last year asking if we’ll be able to do An American Christmas Songbook."

The theatre, which has been the recipient of over 71 Barrymore Award nominations, is located on 120 Radcliffe Street in Bristol Borough, Audience members must show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within 48 hours of the performance in order to attend. The theatre will accept PCR and Antigen test results. Masks must be worn by all audience members.
