Bristol Spray Park May Cut Evening, Weekend Hours: Officials
A staffing shortage may nix weekend and evening spray park hours in Bristol Township, officials said.
BRISTOL, PA - A staffing shortage may slash spray park hours in Bristol Township, officials said.
Due to a lack of applications for night and weekend attendants, the spray park may slash hours of operations on weekends and evenings, the township parks and recreation department said in a statement.
“We still have not received any applications for night or weekend spray park attendants,” the parks department said.

According to the township, spray park applicants should have knowledge of day-to-day operations in maintaining a pool along with prior pool and chemical experience. Attendants are needed Mondays through Fridays from 4 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
“As previously posted we have the position filled until August 11th. If we are not able to hire any additional seasonal staff we will not be able to keep the spray park open at nights or on the weekends,” the department added.

Hour rollbacks have already begun at spray park, which began closing at 7 p.m. instead of 8 p.m. this week, officials said.
But staffing issues aren't the only roadblock for splash park hours: maintenance problems shuttered the splash pad for part of last week, with the parks department reporting lingering "technical issues" with one of the water pumps.
