Bucks Co. Peace Center Seeks Donations To Stay Open
The Langhorne-based center is continuing its 38-year operations under new leadership after announcing its closure.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — While the Bucks County Peace Center has announced it would remain open under new leadership, the organization is trying to raise funds to maintain its 38-year existence.
Barbara Simmons, the Peace Center's executive Director, recently returned to her former role as executive director to ensure The Peace Center did not close its doors, as was planned.
A challenge was also launched to help support the Langhorne-based community peace and justice organization.

The Gene and Marlene Epstein Humanitarian Fund put together a challenge for people to donate to help support the center's vital mission to bring violence prevention, peacebuilding programs to our schools, communities, faith-based institutions, and businesses.
The foundation will donate $10,000 to The Peace Center to match the funds raised.

The Peace Center is close to meeting its $10,000 matching challenge, officials said.
Anyone interested in making a donation to help the organization unlock its matching funds can go to the Peace Center's website at www.thepeacecenter.org.
Indivisible Bucks County had said in August that the peace center was closing because of federal funding cuts. The non-profit organization on West Maple Avenue had served the community since 1982.
Officials said that new leadership will enable the center to offer its celebrated slate of in-school violence prevention and conflict resolution programs, and community response efforts from its historic location in Langhorne Borough.
