Bucks County Man Killed In Goose-Caused Crash ID'd
Richard L. Nolan, 54, of Bristol, was identified as the man involved in the fatal motorcycle accident that took place on Friday.
BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA — The man involved in a fatal motorcycle accident in Croydon has been identified.
Bucks County Coroner Meredith Buck identified the man as Richard L. Nolan, 54, of Bristol. According to Buck, Nolan died of multiple blunt impact injuries after a goose flew into him and cause him to drive into oncoming traffic before colliding with a car.
Nolan was driving his 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle around 10 a.m. on Friday, April 8. According to police, a goose flew out of the nearby woods at Nolan, who was driving his bike near State and River roads, and made contact with his head.

This pushed him into the opposing lane, where he sideswiped one car before a head-on collision with an SUV. Nolan was pronounced dead at the scene; he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

CROYDON, PA — Police have determined that a goose is to blame for a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred in the Croydon area on the morning of Friday, April 8.
According to police, the crash occurred at 9:55 a.m. on State and River roads.
"Upon arrival, officers investigated and found a goose flew out of the woods directly into the side of a motorcyclist's head," police said in a statement. "The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. The impact sent the motorcyclist into the oncoming lane of traffic."
The motorcycle sideswiped a Chevrolet Spark before driving head-on into a Toyota SUV.
The Bucks County Rescue Squad pronounced the man dead at the scene. The intersection was closed for several hours following the crash to allow investigators to look into the cause.
