Bucks Man Rips Shingles Off Roof, Grabs Officer's Taser: Cops

The Bristol Borough man also went to a neighboring brewery, where he flipped over tables and tried kicking an owner, according to police.

BRISTOL, PA — A Bristol Borough man is facing multiple charges after he caused damage to a local building, assaulted a business owner, and grabbed a responding officer's taser.

According to LevittownNow.com, James William Strassler, 24, was charged with aggravated assault, disarming a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, and public drunkenness after an incident that occurred on the 500 block of Route 13 in Bristol Borough on Friday night.

Police responded to a call about a "highly intoxicated" man in the area. Upon arrival, one of the owners of Odd Logic Brewing Company told officers that a man had been ripping the shingles off of the roof of a neighboring business.

According to police, Strassler then went to the back of the popular brewery, where he flipped over tables and attempted to kick one of the owners.

Officers found Strassler in an incoherent state. One officer wrote in court papers that "Strassler was acting chaotic and completely uncooperative."

While waiting for medics to arrive, Strassler attempted to take one officer's taser. The officer warned him not to touch it; when Strassler did grab it, the officer pulled it away and used it on him.

According to police, this caused Strassler to roll on the floor and kick at officers, all while trying to grab more police property.

When Strassler was finally subdued, he kick one of the officers.

Strassler appeared before District Judge Lisa Gaier, who jailed him on 10 percent of $300,000 bail.
