Budweiser Clydesdales To Visit Bristol Borough

The famous horses will be making an appearance in Bristol on May 22, with their parade going down several Borough roads.

BRISTOL BOROUGH, PA — The famous Budweiser Clydesdales will be making another appearance in Bucks County on May 22.

The horses will be paraded down several streets in Bristol Borough on the day of the event, according to Bristol Borough civic group Raising the Bar, who posted information about the vent online. This is the first time the horses have appeared in Bucks County in almost six years.

"The parade route will follow Farragut Avenue to Pond, to Mill to the riverfront where the horses will be on additional display before leaving," said Raising the Bar member Bill Pezza, who published information on the parade on Facebook.

According to The Reporter, who spoke to Pezza about the event, Raising the Bar is sponsoring a lottery that will give 10 lucky winners the chance to march side-by-side with the horses as they make their way through the Borough. The drawing for this lottery is taking place at the Bristol Antique Market, located at 329 Mill Street, according to the publication.

The popular parade made several stops in Bucks County in 2016. From Sept 3. to Sept. 10 of that year, the Budweiser Clydesdales made their way through Doylestown, Bristol, Richboro, Bensalem, and New Hope.

The horse's first appearances came on the heels of the end of Prohibition in 1933 and have become a national tradition ever since. The horses have become synonymous with the famous Budweiser commercials, featuring the horses bringing the popular brew on a beer wagon.

When not parading through American streets, the horses spend their time at Warm Springs Ranch in Boonville, Missouri. The horse breeding facility has been the home and birthplace of the famous Clydesdales for about 14 years.

"Built in 2008, the property features a mare/stallion and foaling barn, veterinary lab, and 10 pastures: each with a customized walk-in shelter," the horse breeding facility said on its website. "Warm Springs Ranch is home to more than 70 Clydesdales ranging from foals to stallions."
