Child Luring Threat Prompts Police Patrols In Middletown Twp.
The Middletown Township Police Department is investigating an incident in the Cobalt Ridge neighborhood on Tuesday.
MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — After a report about a suspicious vehicle and a possible attempted child luring in the Cobalt Ridge neighborhood on Tuesday, the Middletown Township Police Department is increasing police patrols.
Middletown Township Police said they spoke with the child and parent involved, located the vehicle in question, and identified and interviewed the driver, who was confirmed to be a food delivery driver who frequently works in the area.
Police said they are continuing to conduct interviews, review available video, and investigate the incident.

"Out of an abundance of caution, we will maintain an increased police presence in the neighborhood during bus stop hours in the immediate future to help ensure the safety and peace of mind of our students and families," police said.
"Our administrators are aware of this situation and are working closely with our partner resource officers and police departments to ensure the safety of our students on and off our campuses," the Neshaminy School District said in a statement.

Police are providing safety reminders to parents and children, including:
• Never getting into a vehicle with someone they don’t know.
• Walking away and seeking help from a trusted adult if approached.
• Calling 9-1-1 immediately to report suspicious behavior.
Police said residents should be mindful of social media, as it can spread information quickly before facts are confirmed.
Anyone who witnesses or hears about suspicious activity should contact police so officers can respond promptly and appropriately.
