BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA — Kelly Hartman's dog was saved in a fire in the township's Levittown section on Saturday afternoon. But her home was not.

Lower Bucks County fire crews responded to the 100 block of Goldenridge Drive at 1:30 p.m. Saturday for a fire in the front of the house, the Montco/Bucks Incident Page on Facebook reported.

Now the community is rallying around Kelly, a nurse, single mother, and dog owner.

A GoFundMe page was created by Jessica Hartman, Kelly's sister-in-law. The page has raised over $3,200 of its $4,000 goal so far.

"Thankfully, no one was home, and the firefighters (and a bystander) were able to rescue her dog," Jessica Hartman said. "What was not directly destroyed by the fire was destroyed either by smoke or water damage, So she basically lost everything she owned."

Hartman said that Kelly is a hardworking nurse who has accomplished so much as a single mother.

"She works long hours to provide for herself, her son, and their pup," Jessica said. "She (Kelly) is unaware that we are collecting for her because she is so selfless, and I know she wouldn't want to burden anyone with her issues, but we all need help sometimes."

Jessica Hartman said she is trying to raise funds for everyday expenses such as food, clothing, dog items, work items, and other essentials.

"She is always willing to help anyone in need, and if anybody deserves a helping hand it is her," Hartman said of Kelly.
