LEVITTOWN, PA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.
This submission comes from Sam Geere, who nominated her friend, Cassie Tinsman, a nurse working with coronavirus patients at Abington Memorial Hospital.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Cassie is a very hard-working, fun-loving, caring, positive person. She has always had a passion for helping people and doing everything she can to turn a bad situation into a good one. She has been working on with 100 tested COVID-19 patients since Day One. She has never complained and always gladly puts her patients health before her own.
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Cassie and her father, David, have been making face masks in their spare time. They’ve provided over 200 masks for the community and donate to hospitals and other essential medical workers in need.
