Dense Fog, Scattered Storms In PA Tuesday Forecast: NWS

A low-visibility morning commute followed by scattered storms and showers are set to follow Monday's washout weather, experts say.

PENNSYLVANIA - Following Monday’s washout weather, Tuesday will see a lower chance of storms that won’t be as widespread, forecasters say.

Tuesday will begin foggy with some areas reporting less than a quarter mile of visibility, the National Weather Service said, followed by temperatures hovering just below 90 degrees (“feels-like” temperatures will be higher due to humidity) with stray thunderstorms, according to AccuWeather.

With any stronger storms that develop, there could be some small hail, the National Weather Service added.

The good news: drier air should help limit the span of showers and storms, especially as compared to yesterday, National Weather Service forecasters said in a weather discussion. In fact, Tuesday should see intervals of clouds and sunshine between any storms.

A dense fog advisory is in effect Tuesday morning for portions of eastern Pennsylvania and northern/central New Jersey through 9 a.m., the National Weather Service said. Visibility will be one quarter mile or less in dense fog. The affected counties are:

“If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you,” the agency warned motorists.

Here’s the latest forecast, per the National Weather Service:

Tuesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 86. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 67. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. Calm wind.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 68.
