District-Wide Art Show Returning To Pennsbury

FALLSINGTON, PA — Pennsbury School District has announced the return of its district-wide art show, which had been placed on hold for the last two years amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Student artwork will be on display from May 3 to May 5 in the Pennsbury High School East Gymnasium. The art show will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day.

"The uniqueness of Pennsbury's District Art Show is that it features the work of students from kindergarten through 12th-grade," said Ruth Anne Schultz, Pennsbury's Art Curriculum Coordinator. "The pieces on display include a variety of 2D and 3D media, including drawings, paintings, ceramics, printmaking, digital photography, collages, and sculpture."

All of the art pieces to be featured in the show were created by students of a Pennsbury art class. The class and lessons are aligned with the school district's art curriculum.

"I am happy to resume an in-person Pennsbury District Art Show. This show allows the community to see a wide span of talented student artists," added Schultz.

The school district's art curriculum, which is taught to students K-12, equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to produce great art. The teaching of art history, as well as aesthetics and criticism, are designed to give students a broad view of the world of art in order to learn about its importance in the world of education.
