Driver Killed After Striking Pole In Bristol Twp.

The crash happened early Wednesday morning on Newportville Road in Bristol Township, police said.

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA — Authorities are investigating a fatal crash early Wednesday morning in the area of Newportville Road and Ritter Avenue.

Bristol Township Police responded to a single-vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality at 1:07 a.m. Wednesday, Lt. Sean Cosgrove said.

Police said a 27-year-old man driving a Dodge RAM pickup truck veered off the side of the road while heading southbound on Newportville Road in the area of Ritter Avenue, striking a utility pole and some trees.

The unidentified man suffered immediate fatal injuries in the crash, police said.

The Bucks County Coroner's Office was on the scene.

Coroner Patti Campi told Patch Wednesday morning that she has been alerted to the crash.

Police were assisted by Newportville Fire Company and Medics #143.
