Firework Sparked Falls Township House Fire Over Weekend: FD

The Falls Township Fire Marshal said that a house fire is under investigation in the township's Elderberry section.

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — A firework is believed to have sparked a house fire over the weekend, fire officials said.

Falls Township Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said that his office is investigating a house fire on Saturday night.

The Levittown Fire Co. #1, along with Fairless Hills, Levittown #2, and Tullytown Fire Companies were dispatched to East Lane in the Elderberry section of Levittown for a house fire at 9:35 p.m. on Saturday.

The Morrisville, Falls, Edgely, and Third District fire companies also responded to the fire along with the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad.

Fire crews found heavy fire showing from the home. They met the homeowners, who stated that everyone was out of the home. There were no reported injuries to residents or firefighters.

During the investigation, it is believed that a firework was shot off in the vicinity and went through the front window, igniting the fire, Dippolito said.

The homeowners, who were home at the time of the fire, attempted to extinguish the fire while neighbors called 911, but the fire was too intense and the owners had to evacuate, fire officials said.

The Falls Township Fire Marshal is currently investigating this fire along with the Falls Township Police Department.
