The police chief portrays the Revolutionary War general at the re-enactment of Washington’s crossing of the Delaware River at Washington Crossing Historical Park every December.

"Throughout his tenure, Chief Godzieba has put his many years of law enforcement experience toward making the borough a safe and friendly place to live," officials said. "He knows and is known by all and has become a staple of our community, and we have been incredibly fortunate to have him as our Chief of Police. While we are sad to see him go, his retirement is well-earned, and we wish him all the best."

The public is invited to say goodbye to Chief Godzieba at the council meeting. The council chambers open at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

During the ceremony, the police chief will receive a certificate of appreciation.
