Hurricane Erin May Bring Some Delaware River Flooding

The Bristol Wharf may see some overflow from the Delaware River as the hurricane moves toward Pennsylvania.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Bristol Borough could be one of the Lower Bucks County towns that sees some minor flooding from Hurricane Erin.

The National Weather Service said there is a minor risk for coastal flooding on the Delaware River up to Trenton from Wednesday through Thursday.

That risk could impact the Bristol Wharf, which is prone to flooding from storms due to its proximity to the Delaware River.

On Thursday, the region may see sustained northeast winds, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph in Lower Bucks County, the National Weather Service reported.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected on Wednesday afternoon and evening, with some heavier storms possible.

The National Weather Service said the center of Hurricane Erin will pass well to the southeast and east on Thursday, but the storm is expected to expand in size.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely before 2 a.m., then a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Northeast wind around 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

A slight chance of showers before 7 a.m., then a slight chance of showers after 8 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71 degrees. Northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. The chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 59. North wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
