Levittown-Area Students Nominated To Military Academies

U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick announced the nominations on Friday.

LEVITTOWN, PA — Several students from Levittown-area high schools have been nominated to attend U.S. military academies.

The nominations were announced Friday by U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, who represents Bucks County and part of Montgomery County in Congress.

"One of the most important duties for Rep. Fitzpatrick is to nominate qualified young men and women from Bucks and Montgomery counties to the nation’s prestigious service academies," his office said in a news release.

Service academy nominations are recommended to Fitzpatrick by his nomination committee, which includes active duty and retired service members from across the district.

  • Andrew Johnson, Harry S. Truman High School, U.S. Air Force Academy
  • Samuel Ruta, Pennsbury High School, U.S. Military Academy
  • Zachary Shatson, Neshaminy High School, U.S. Air Force Academy and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy
  • Catherine Smith, Pennsbury High School, U.S. Air Force Academy
