Lincoln Train Stop Immortalized In Bucks County
Bristol Borough has unveiled a replica of the train stop when then-President-Elect Abraham Lincoln made a brief speech.

BRISTOL BOROUGH, PA — Abraham Lincoln's visit to Bristol Borough will be forever immortalized.
Borough officials were expected to unveil its Lincoln Project during a dedication ceremony on Tuesday night to mark Lincoln's stop in the borough to make a speech as he was headed by train to Washington, D.C., for his presidential inauguration.
The borough is marking then President-Elect Lincoln's historic stop in Bristol Borough on Feb. 21, 1861, with a commemorative display built by Bristol Borough Raising the Bar.

The non-profit organization received $60,000 in funding from State Sen. Steve Santarsiero and State Rep. Tina Davis for the project.
During his brief stop, Lincoln addressed a crowd of more than 1,000 people.

"During a time of great turmoil in our nation’s history, President-elect Abraham Lincoln briefly stepped foot in Bristol Borough on his journey to serve in Washington, DC, spreading a message of unity," Santarsiero said at the time of the funding announcement. "That quick stop to refuel the train carrying Lincoln left a lasting mark on the Borough that prevails more than a century later."
