Man Selling Sneakers Robbed At Gunpoint In Bristol

He said two men he met after advertising the sneakers on a mobile app tried to pay him with counterfeit money.

BRISTOL, PA — A Bristol man was robbed at gunpoint on Thursday when he met up to sell a pair of sneakers he had advertised on a mobile app.

At 12:23 p.m. Thursday, Bristol Borough Police were called to a report of an armed robbery in the parking lot of Commerce Circle, off of Rt. 13. There, a man told them he'd arranged to sell the sneakers using the "Offer Up" app.

He met two men in the parking lot, but said he realized that they were paying him with counterfeit money. When he said something about it, one of the men pulled a handgun, police said.

The two men then got away in a 2104 Chevy Impala, police said.

The gunman is described as a black male in his late 20s standing about 5'8" with a slim build and a short haircut with some facial hair. He was wearing glasses and a black and red hooded sweatshirt.

The second man is described as a black male in his late 20s with a thin build, short hair and a gap between his teeth.
