Maple Point MS Raises $31K At 'Coaches Vs. Cancer' Sports Event
The middle school's eighth annual charity sports event raised funds for the Coaches vs. Cancer of Philadelphia School and Youth Initiative.
LANGHORNE, PA — Maple Point Middle School's Eighth Annual "Coaches Vs. Cancer" event saw the school raise over $31,000 for cancer research.
The charity sports event was held in the middle school's gymnasium on Friday, March 11. The event was a middle school boys basketball doubleheader between Maple Point and Carl Sandburg.
"It is with great pride and overwhelming gratitude that we announce that the 8th Annual Maple Point Coaches vs. Cancer Night has raised $31,126 for the Coaches vs. Cancer of Philadelphia School and Youth Initiative," according to Maple Point Middle School Assistant Principal Neil French.

The Neshaminy School District middle school has been working with the Coaches vs. Cancer of Philadelphia School and Youth Initiative for years, with all funds from the sports events going being raised for the American Cancer Society Philadelphia. Since the school's first event in 2014, the middle school has raised $108,104 for the cancer society.
"We thank the entire Maple Point community for your support in our efforts to #CRUSHCANCER," the school said.
