Middletown Cop With Coronavirus 'Doing Well,' Police Say
The officer tested positive on Friday evening, according to the Middletown Township Police Department.
MIDDLETOWN, PA — A Middletown Township Police officer who tested positive for the new coronavirus on Friday is at home and doing well, the department said Saturday.
In a social media post, the Middletown Township Police Department said the officer received the positive COVID-19 test on Friday evening. They said he "is doing well for now and is resting and recovering in isolation at home, and is following the county health department’s instructions and CDC guidelines."
Police said it's unknown how he was infected. The department has identified other officers and staff members who have been in recent, close contact with him — as well as those who are showing symptoms of the virus — and made sure they are self-quarantined.
