Middletown Man Arrested After Shots Fired Saturday

Police were called to Old Lincoln Highway shortly after 6 a.m. on Saturday.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A man was arrested in Middletown Township on Saturday after police say he fired gunshots behind his home.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on Saturday, Middletown Township Police officers were called to the area of W. Old Lincoln Hwy., to a report of a man who had fired two rounds from a firearm into the air.

The man fired the shots behind his home, police said. Officers arrived, set up a perimeter and made phone contact with the man, whom they described as distraught.

After they spoke with him for several minutes, the man came out of his home and was taken into custody, police said. He was taken to Lower Bucks Hospital for a mental-health evaluation and also will face criminal charges, police said.

They said the firearm that he used and other related evidence was taken from the home.
