Mother, Child In Stroller Struck In Multi-Car Crash On Route 13

Both are in critical condition after the crash, the Bristol Borough Police Department said over the weekend.

BRISTOL, PA — A mother and 16-month-old child are in critical condition after being hit by a car on Route 13 Saturday night, the Bristol Borough Police Department said.

Police arrived at Route 13 near 2nd Avenue around 8 p.m., after receiving a report of a pedestrian hit by a car. Upon arrival, they found that a mother and young child in a stroller had been struck by a vehicle heading southbound on Route 13.

Police reported that the striking vehicle was then rear ended by another car.

The Bucks County Rescue Squad transported the mother and child to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital. Police said the child was later transferred to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.

Both drivers stayed at the scene and are cooperating with investigators. Due to the extent of the injuries, police said that the Bucks County District Attorneys Homicide by Auto Unit is assisting in the investigation.
