Neshaminy Creek Expected To Crest Thursday

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —The Middletown Township Police Department has issued a flood warning regarding the Neshaminy Creek due to rainfall Wednesday.

One week after flooding caused the creek to peak, the police department said that the Neshaminy Creek is expected to crest above 8.5 feet around 6 a.m. Thursday.

The police department said the news comes from the National Weather Service's Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service Hydrograph of Neshaminy Creek near Langhorne.

Police said that 8 feet is considered Action Stage and 9 feet is considered Minor Flood Stage.

Police said that residents in flood-prone areas such as Periwinkle Avenue, Bridle Drive, and Playwicki Road should be prepared to take action.

Residents should monitor local news and weather stations for further information, police said.

Last Monday, the creek crested at 12 feet (which is moderate flood stage) due to flooding from heavy rainfall the prior weekend.
