New Regional Treatment Plant Planned At Keystone Trade Center
The new plant would serve residents of Falls Township and the Yardley area.
FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — A new regional wastewater treatment plant is being planned at the Keystone Trade Center.
Falls Township and Morrisville Borough are preparing to submit to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection a Sewage Facilities 537 Plan Update Revision.
The revision calls for decommissioning the Morrisville and Keystone Trade Center Wastewater Treatment plants and building a new regional wastewater treatment plant at the Keystone Trade Center.

The Morrisville Municipal Authority will fund the decommissioning.
The authority will also build new transfer pump stations and associated force mains to redirect flow, and consolidate treatment at the new wastewater treatment facility.

The plant will continue to service the same customer base as the existing facilities, which provide treatment for parts of Falls and Lower Makefield townships, and all of Morrisville and Yardley boroughs.
While the facility is designed to accommodate future growth, there is no proposed expansion of the service area included in the update, officials said.
The project will be funded by grants and loans, and the expenses will be spread across MMA's customer base over an allotted time period.
The 30-day public comment period continues through Thursday.
