LANGHORNE, PA — The "No Kings" protest Saturday outside the office of U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick drew over 1,500 people, organizers said.

Throughout the nation on Saturday, organizations including Indivisible, the American Civil Liberties Union, Human Rights Campaign, and Social Security Works collaborated to organize a national mass mobilization of protestors who object to the disruptive and damaging policies of the Trump Administration.

Saturday's protest included speeches from Democratic candidate for Bucks County District Attorney, Joe Khan; Democratic candidate for Bucks County Sheriff Danny Ceisler; Pennsylvania Policy Center Campaign Director, Dwayne Heisler; former Bucks County Prothonotary and current candidate for Lower Makefield Township Supervisor Judi Reiss; and Democratic candidate for Bucks County Prothonotary, Donna Petrecco.

Over 1,350 people signed up to attend, and hosting organization Indivisible Bucks County said its best estimate is that 1,800 people came out to the rally in the rain on Saturday.

“Donald Trump, his billionaire cabinet, and Congressional Republicans are trying to rig our economy against working Americans so they can deliver trillions in giveaways to their billionaire buddies while they trample over our inalienable rights,” said Laura Rose, co-leader of Indivisible Bucks County. “We must stand up against this betrayal of American values and ensure every person in our nation knows how Republicans are betraying our communities. We will peacefully join our voices in opposition to Trump’s actions and priorities, and display our support for the foundational principles of equality, freedom, and constitutional checks and balances.”

“We’re here to say loud and clear: In a democracy, there are no kings — and no one is above the law,” said Dwayne Heisler of the Pennsylvania Policy Center. “Pennsylvanians Together is standing up against cruel cuts to Medicaid and SNAP that will fund tax breaks for billionaires because we believe the government should serve all of us, not just the wealthy few.”

"Honest prosecutors– and the rule of law itself – are under attack by corrupt politicians and unelected billionaires,” said Joe Khan, Democratic Candidate for Bucks County District Attorney. “That’s why it’s more important than ever for the people of Bucks County to have a District Attorney who won’t be bought, broken or bullied."

"Public officials are supposed to serve the people, not those who seek to corrupt our local government,” said Donna Petrecco, Democratic Candidate for Bucks County Prothonotary. “That’s why I pledge to protect our courts, and the people we serve, from unlawful interference and corrupt influence.”
