Oxford Valley Road and other roadways were shut down Tuesday afternoon as police surrounded the hotel, where a man had a rifle.

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — A Levittown man was in custody Tuesday after police say he holed up in a Langhorne hotel with a rifle and threatened to shoot anyone who approached.

Falls Township Police say they got a 911 call at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday from a therapist who said a man under care was in a room at the Red Roof Inn, at 3100 Cabot Blvd. off of Oxford Valley Road, and threatening suicide.

The man, who was identified as a 23-year-old from Levittown, was on the phone with the therapist and said he was armed and would shoot at anyone who approached, police spokesman Lt. Nelson Whitney said.
