Passenger Seriously Injured In Route 1 Construction Zone Crash: PD

Middletown Township Police said the crash involved a car hitting an unoccupied tanker truck on Wednesday night.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Middletown Township Police are investigating a crash in a construction zone near Neshaminy High School on Wednesday night in which a passenger suffered serious injury.

Police responded at 10:10 p.m. on Wednesday to a two-vehicle accident in the area of Neshaminy High School on southbound Route 1.

A Subaru Impreza suffered heavy damage after the crash in an active overnight construction zone in which the car rear-ended an unoccupied tanker truck, police said.

Police said the driver fled the scene before being arrested.

One passenger suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries. Police said no construction workers were injured.

The Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the crash and is seeking assistance from the public.
