Police Detain Man On Pennsbury High School Campus

Pennsbury school officials said a person was asking students questions at the high school on Tuesday morning.

FAIRLESS HILLS, PA — A man was detained by police after showing up on the Pennsbury High School grounds asking students questions on Tuesday morning, school officials said.

Schools Superintendent Thomas A. Smith and High School Campus Principal Reggie Meadows sent an email to high school parents stating that the Falls Township Police Department detained a person on the High School East Campus at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

School officials said the person, whose name was not identified, was interacting with students and a maintenance staff member, asking them questions about how “they can be involved in the school.”

The students and staff felt the individual was “acting irrationally” and immediately reported the interactions, and the police were called, school officials said.

School officials said more information would be shared with the public when it becomes available.

"We will share more information when we have it," school officials said. "We would like to commend the students and staff members involved for their quick actions. We would also like to thank the Falls Township Police for their quick response."

School officials said Falls Township Police will remain on the high school campus until further notice.
