Thunderstorms, 60 MPH Wind Gusts In Southeastern PA Friday Forecast
Grab your umbrellas, PA: several rounds of thunderstorms are coming to the state on Friday, forecasters said. Here's what to expect.
PENNSYLVANIA - Additional rounds of thunderstorms and showers are slated to hit southern Pennsylvania on Friday, forecasters said.
Friday should begin with mostly sunny skies, although “several clusters” of storms are expected starting around 3 p.m. ahead of a cold front, the National Weather Service said. The rounds will travel east until around midnight, the agency added.
The worst impacts are expected south and east of the Philadelphia metropolitan area, forecasters said. Wind gusts up to 60 mph are also possible, forecasters added.

“Overall the most likely time period for showers in thunderstorms is in the late afternoon to evening period .. and the most likely location is across the southern portions of the area,” the National Weather Service Mount Holly Station said in a forecast discussion.
Forecasters note that the state will remain mostly dry over the weekend, with mostly sunny skies expected and temperatures near 86 degrees. Sunday night holds a slight chance of showers, AccuWeather said.

“[We] should have dry and tranquil conditions both days,” the National Weather Service said in a forecast discussion. “Temperatures will be slightly above normal, but with dewpoints staying in the 50s to lower 60s, heat index values should be very close to the air temperature.”
Here’s the latest forecast, per the National Weather Service:
Friday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 11 p.m. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. South wind around 5 mph becoming west in the evening. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Northwest wind around 5 mph.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. North wind around 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
Sunday Night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69.
