LEVITTOWN, PA — It was the first Congressional Town Hall here in seven years.

Congressman Ro Khanna, who grew up in Levittown and graduated from the Council Rock School District, held this “Benefits over Billionaires” town hall event, in conjunction with Indivisible Bucks County, to highlight the projected impacts of the Trump Administration's budget.

Organizers said over 300 residents recently attended the event at the Heritage Hall venue, taking about three dozen open, unvetted questions.

"I am proud to have grown up in Bucks County, and I look forward to engaging with the community and answering people's questions about how Democrats can stand up to the administration’s attacks and Republican funding cuts," said U.S. Congressman Ro Khanna of California’s Seventeenth District.

“Town halls are a bedrock of democratic government,” said Laura Rose of Indivisible Bucks County. “Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick has failed to hold a town hall since August of 2017, and that is a serious failure to fulfill the requirements of his job. The people of Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District deserve better. We are delighted that Congressman Ro Khanna has agreed to fill the void that Rep. Fitzpatrick has left open all these years and take questions from our neighbors.”
