Trash Truck Fire Near Tyburn Rd. Fought By Local Firefighters
Station 30 and 31 of Falls Township Fire Company #1, as well as Rescue 30, put out the large blaze that occurred on Monday afternoon.
FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — Firefighters were dispatched to the area of Tyburn Road and Route 13 for a report of a trash truck fire on Monday, Feb. 21.
According to Falls Township Fire Company #1, who wrote about the incident on their official Facebook page, the fire was caused by an onboard Compressed Natural Gas tank venting, which fueled the fire and made it more intense.
The fire department's Rescue 30 arrived on the scene and used two 1 3/4' lines to both cool the tank and fight the large blaze.

Engine 30 arrived shortly after and supplied Rescue 30 with water.

It took all units about three hours to fully extinguish the truck fire. No injuries have been reported as a result.
