Truck Crashes Into Route 1 Overpass, Causes Traffic

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — A dump truck struck the overpass near the Maple Avenue interchange in Middletown Township, causing significant traffic for hours on Tuesday, April 12.

The tractor-trailer struck the bridge as it was attempting to pass under it around noon. The truck sustained significant damage as a result.

Traffic on Route 1 was shut down in both directions as a result of the incident. Maple Avenue, as well as other roads in the Langhorne area, saw a large increase in traffic as a result.

Authorities were able to reopen the highway around 4 p.m.

No serious injuries have been reported.
