U.S. 1 In Levittown Blocked Both Ways By Wires

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — Motorists in the Levittown area were being asked to avoid U.S. 1 late Friday morning, after downed wires blocked the highway in both directions.

Falls Township Police called the situation "a major traffic incident" in a social media post shortly after 11 a.m. Friday.

Southbound lanes of U.S. 1 were closed at Pennsylvania Avenue and northbound lanes were closed at the Rt. 32 split. PECO crews were on the scene as of late Friday morning.

Police said the situation was expected to take several hours to resolve. They were urging drivers to take alternate routes if they must travel.
