'A Very Furry Christmas' Brings Holiday Magic To Sesame Place

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Sesame Place Philadelphia will kick off "A Very Furry Christmas, the Middletown Township amusement park’s annual holiday celebration, on Saturday.

The park will transform into a sparkling Christmas wonderland with millions of twinkling lights, special events, seasonal treats, unique photo opportunities with Sesame Street friends in their holiday best, and their favorite family-friendly rides and attractions.

All-new in 2025, guests can say hello to the very merry Candy Cane Crew, an upbeat holiday cheer squad who make the air sweet wherever they go! These festive, candy-striped neighbors skip around the park, handing out candy canes and wishing a happy holiday to everyone they meet.

Holly jolly holiday entertainment, including the heartwarming character stage show, “Elmo’s Christmas Wish,” can be found all around the park. Guests can jingle bell rock along to the Sesame Street Christmas Parade, the “Furry Friends Holiday Dance Party,” “A Very Merry Sesame Street Sing-Along,” and “1-2-3 Christmas Tree Light Show.”

Guests can also enjoy a variety of new mouthwatering menu additions, exclusive for the holiday season! Specialty items include a maple waffle sandwich, meatball hoagie, Mexican street corn, bratwurst with cranberry mustard, and a dreamy baguette with fondue.

Returning fan-favorite highlights of A Very Furry Christmas include:

  • Meet & Greets with Santa Claus at Santa’s Furry Workshop, with a Virtual Queue available so guests spend more time enjoying rides than waiting in lines
  • Cookies & Cocoa with Cookie Monster
  • Santa’s Christmas Dine with Elmo & Friends and The Count’s Countdown to New Year’s Celebration
  • Meet & Greets with Rudolph & Friends at Rudolph’s Winter Wonderland
  • Tasty seasonal treats like flavored hot chocolates and s’mores funnel cake

The celebration begins with Santa’s Grand Illumination on Saturday, when Santa Claus arrives at Sesame Place and illuminates the park’s millions of twinkling lights.

Additional special events include:

  • Hanukkah Celebration, Dec. 19-22: Guests can celebrate the Festival of Lights with a Menorah Lighting Ceremony, Hanukkah Storytime with Baby Bear, the Hanukkah activity station, and Meet & Greets with Baby Bear.
  • Santa’s ‘Twas The Night Celebration, Dec. 24: Only on the evening of December 24, guests can gather at the Sesame Street Neighborhood for a spirited Christmas Eve send-off for Santa Claus on the night of his Big Ride!
  • Kwanzaa Celebration, Dec. 26-Jan. 1, 2026: Each night of Kwanzaa, guests are invited to join their favorite furry friends for Sesame Place’s Kwanzaa Celebration, including a Kinara Lighting Ceremony and a Kwanzaa Storytime experience.
  • New Year’s Eve Fireworks, Dec. 31: Sesame Place Philadelphia will ring in 2026 with its dazzling “C…is for Celebrate!” New Year’s Eve Fireworks on December 31. For an extra special treat, guests can celebrate at The Count’s Countdown to New Year’s Celebration Dine at Dine with Elmo & Friends, available from Dec. 26 through Jan. 4.
